Bootcamp is separate from our ongoing 1:1 and Small Group programmes: it's a short, intensive top-up rather than a term-long commitment, and it's priced and booked on its own terms. Full booking terms are in our Terms & Conditions.
What to expect
Built around your child
We ask for each student's priority topics before the course starts: the areas where marks are actually being lost. Your tutor uses this, plus any Thornwick diagnostic results already on file, to plan the two days around what will move the grade.
Small groups, real benefits
Groups are capped at 5 students, so there's still room for proper discussion (comparing methods, working through a tricky question together) while everyone gets meaningful time with the tutor.
Specialist, examiner tutors
Every bootcamp tutor is DBS-checked and, like all Thornwick tutors, a qualified Maths teacher and current or former examiner, chosen for their ability to explain clearly and rebuild confidence. That's what lets them show students exactly what's being marked.
- ✓ Past-paper practice with exam-style feedback
- ✓ Exam technique, timing & common mistakes
- ✓ Structured breaks across a full day
- ✓ Materials tailored to the group's exam board
- ✓ A confidence boost before mocks or finals
How it's structured
Sold as a 2-day course
Bootcamp runs as one continuous 2-day block on the dates below, rather than single days booked separately, so there's enough time to properly cover priority topics and still get exam-style practice in.
Runs in the holidays
Dates are set around major half-terms and Easter, timed ahead of mocks and Summer exams, so revision happens with enough runway to make a difference.
October Half-Term dates
Sessions run as fixed 2-day blocks, grouped by year and tier so every student is working alongside others at a similar level. Spaces are limited to 5 students per group, so book early to secure your child's year and tier.
| Year & tier | Dates | Spaces |
|---|---|---|
| Year 11 · Higher | Monday 19th – Tuesday 20th October 2026 | Limited spaces |
| Year 11 · Foundation | Wednesday 21st – Thursday 22nd October 2026 | Limited spaces |
| Year 11 · Higher | Friday 23rd – Saturday 24th October 2026 | Limited spaces |
| Year 10 · Higher | Sunday 25th – Monday 26th October 2026 | Limited spaces |
| Year 10 · Higher | Wednesday 28th – Thursday 29th October 2026 | Limited spaces |
A typical bootcamp day
Each day runs online as four taught blocks with proper breaks in between, so concentration holds from start to finish. Where a student books two days, this schedule repeats on day two with the group's next priority topics.
| Session | Time |
|---|---|
| Lesson 1 | 9:30am – 11:00am |
| Break | 15 minutes |
| Lesson 2 | 11:15am – 12:45pm |
| Lunch | 1 hour |
| Lesson 3 | 1:45pm – 3:15pm |
| Break | 15 minutes |
| Lesson 4 | 3:30pm – 5:00pm |
Getting the most from the day
If your child has already completed a Thornwick diagnostic assessment, we'll build the bootcamp plan around those results. If not, just let us know their priority topics and exam board when you book, and the tutor will plan the day's structure and content around that.
We recommend joining from a computer, laptop or iPad, on a stable internet connection, for the best experience across a full day of sessions.
Price & booking
Good to know: Bootcamp bookings are covered by their own terms rather than our standard cancellation policy.
This includes how refunds work if a date doesn't run, set out in full in section 6 of our Terms & Conditions.
